Topic: Focus on Following Patiently
Hebrews 12:1 “Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,”
This opening text is a frequently read text, but have you noticed the seemingly contrasting terms there: ‘run’ and ‘patience’? Speed and haste are not the same, what God is requesting us to do is to follow His directions but carefully and patiently, doing it as quick as His grace avails.
We know there is triumph assured at the end of following God, but nobody gets the prize ignoring instructions. Does it often feel like things don’t work out even after following His directions? It’s high time you did so in God’s way and at His pace. Peace.
Talk to God: Father, teach me patience in you in Jesus name, amen.

Topic: Focus on Possibilities
Matthew 19:26 “But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.”
If we want to be like our father in heaven, we should prepare to think like Him and see the way He sees things. One attribute of God we should inherit is His ability to see possibilities. Read the account of creation in Genesis, you will discover that God didn’t have a doubt about anything He said, and so they were.
You need to come to the point where faith and work no longer fail at the thoughts of failure and impossibilities. Whose report would you rather believe, God’s or man’s?
Talk to God: Father, give me your eyes to see possibilities just like you in Jesus name, amen!

Topic: Focus on Preparing Early
Joshua 3:1 “And Joshua rose early in the morning; and they removed from Shittim, and came to Jordan, he and all the children of Israel, and lodged there before they passed over.”
Praise the Lord! Did you know that even before the event in this opening text, Joshua had been assured of his victory over Jericho, yet he was still getting prepared. In fact, the preparation continued even for days after (from verse 2).
God will always do His part to make you succeed, He doesn’t want you to be lazy either. No assignment should be done without preparation even if it’s half done. Focus and prepare early.
Talk to God: Teach me how to prepare properly for every task, Holy Spirit.

Topic: Focus on Expanding Goals
Philippians 4:8 “Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.”
God does not want us to be stagnant, His pleasure is for us to multiply, to subdue and replenish the earth, such great purpose that He gave us the ability to think. A wise use of it it to expand our world with this provision.
Have you set goals? Focus on expanding them. God daily loads us with benefits and He does not want us to be wasteful. He created you full of potentials, so we explore them and not return with any when we die. Focus!
Talk to God: Father, help me to dream and achieve bigger this year in Jesus name, amen!

Topic: Focus on Priorities
Matthew 6:33 “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.”
Whereas goal setting is important, priority setting helps to conceive the goals in a right order. What as Christians should be our greatest priority, Christ Himself said that in today’s opening text.
Now, seeking first the Kingdom of God, we need to understand that everything we do is meant to glorify God and that we need to be mindful of Christ’s coming, allowing godliness to reflect in us. Set your priorities right!
Talk to God: Father, order my steps and guide me in Jesus name, amen.
